A few days back, I was looking for a good all in one laser printer or inkjet printer for home use. So, I went about thoroughly researching on a whole range of printers. I scrolled through and gained knowledge on a collection of popular and best printers for home use.
Now, if are you also looking for an an inkjet printer for home use or a laser printer for home use. Your search probably ends here. After reading this post, it shall become easy for you to make a choice as to which printer you should buy
This blog presents some of the good printers that I came across. And, how I went about filtering the right printer for my home use.
There are so many home printers available in the market that one is really spoilt for choice. The first thing that we got to figure out is whether to go for Laser Printer or an Inkjet printer.
InkJet vs Laser Printer:
- No doubt, Inkjet printers are relatively cheaper than the laser printers. The laser printers in question are only black and white printers. It’s not advisable to go for colored laser printers for home use. Because the initial cost is just too high.
- Cost of black and white printing per page is much lower for laser printer as compared to inkjet printers.
- However, Inkjet printers are of no match to laser printers when it comes to speed.
- Laser printers will be too costly to print image heavy or colored documents.
Loaded with this information, I decided to have a look at available options for both Laser and Inkjet printer for home use.
Best Printers for Home Use: Key Features to look for
I had some of the features in mind when I decided to buy a printer. While some others just came up during my research.
So, here is the holistic list of impressive features that we will look for while deciding to buy a useful printer:
- Low cost of printing: Laser printers have much lower cost of printing however there is a variant of Inkjet printers which comes with an Inktank, that reduces the cost of printing of Inkjet printers as well
- Wireless: In the modern age, the printer must be wireless. Wireless printers can further work seamlessly with mobile devices as well so you can print from the comfort of your Mobile devices as well (Smart phones/tabs etc).
- All in one printer: Printer should be an all-in-one printer including the functions of scanning and photocopying alongside printing.
- ADF: The printer must have feature of Automatic document feeding. So, this is an extremely useful feature and must not be ignored.
- Dual side printing: Indeed a good to have feature provided it does not break the bank.
- Upfront cost: Upfront cost should justify the cost of a home printer.
- Color Printing: Should be able to take up color printing if possible.
- Weight: As less as possible!! In the modern tech world, the hardware is thinner and as light as possible .. 🙂
